Frýdlant, a historic town in northern Bohemia, is represented by a logo that symbolizes three key periods in its history: the legacy of Albrecht von Valdštejn, the 18th-century significance, and its modern future. The design incorporates three “F”s, connecting Czech, German, and Polish heritage.

Frýdlant, a town with a rich history, is located in northern Bohemia. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when Frýdlant Castle was built. The town flourished under Albrecht von Valdštejn in the 17th century, and in the 18th century, it was an important center. Today, Frýdlant is a modern town with a historic core and castle that attract tourists. The city is surrounded by beautiful nature and serves as the gateway to the Jizera Mountains. Thanks to the very progressive city leadership, it was possible to freely approach the logo design.

Design
The Frýdlant logo is based on the symbolic clash of three lands and three key periods in the town's history. Albrecht von Valdštejn brought glory to Frýdlant and laid the foundations from which the town still draws today. In the 18th century, Frýdlant was exposed to the Seven Years' War, when Napoleon's army marched through it. At that time, Frýdlant was a significant center. And finally, the present represents a modern city that looks to the future. The logo contains three letters "F" that refer to these three important periods and the three names of the city in different languages: Friedlant (Germany), Frydlant (Poland), and Frýdlant (Czech Republic). The logo is thus adapted not only to Czech citizens but also to residents of neighboring countries, thereby strengthening its international comprehensibility.

Implement
Our result is a long-term collaboration on the implementation of the visual style. We delivered an extensive graphic manual and continue to assist with the implementation of individual outputs. It is worth mentioning the design of the local magazine, the orientation system in the city and the near camping place. Overall, the project is of a large scale, yet the cooperation went smoothly.
